About FLBC

The Family League of Baltimore City, Inc. is a quasi-governmental nonprofit organization that works with a range of partners to develop and implement initiatives that improve the well-being of Baltimore’s children, youth and families. The Family League’s work touches the lives of tens of thousands of Baltimore families each year.

The Family League is uniquely able to coordinate major initiatives, bring together a range of partners, and fashion new approaches to the city’s urgent problems.

  • We use state and city funding to leverage millions of federal and private funds – $2.5 million in FY13 alone – that are critically needed.

We have strong working relationships with the City and the State, as well as a range of nonprofits, foundations, universities and businesses.

We have the experience to reach across bureaucratic boundaries to bring together various stakeholders and identify more efficient ways of providing services during tough budget times.

Our Mission

The Family League of Baltimore City, Inc. is a non-profit, quasi-governmental organization mandated by the City and State to provide resource coordination and development, and to inform, prioritize, and implement strategies that will improve the well-being of Baltimore’s children, youth and families. The Family League believes that by providing leadership, creating public/private partnerships, leveraging funding, and using data to drive decisions, we will improve outcomes in our neighborhoods and communities.

Our Vision

The Family League of Baltimore will be the organizing force behind a City-wide, integrated system of care for children and families, where opportunities, supports and justice are equally available to all, from cradle to career.
